In a career spanning 17 years in the MLB, Andrew Pafko was an All-Star for four seasons. Overall, from 1,852 games, he held a .285 batting average with 213 home runs and 976 RBIs. In 1999, he was named to the Chicago Cubs All-Century Team. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs (1943–51), Brooklyn Dodgers (1951–52), and Milwaukee Braves (1953–59). He batted and threw right-handed and played center field.

Pafko is known for being card #1 in the 1952 Topps baseball card set. In the 1952 Topps baseball card set, Pafko’s own card is ranked #1; therefore, near mint or better condition of this card is hard to come by. In 1998, one of Pafko’s 1952 Topps baseball cards sold at $84,000. The card played a major role in Cop Out (2010).
